Limited Warranty

This catalytic converter is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship subject to the exclusions and conditions set forth below and subject to the durational limits in this paragraph.  This catalytic converter has been designed and manufactured and is warranted to exceed federal Environmental Protection Agency emission requirement for                4 years/50,000 miles (80,000 km).  The bodies are warranted for 5 years or 50,000 miles (80,000 km), whichever comes first.  At the conclusion of this stated warranty period, all liability under this limited warranty shall terminate.

2. Defects

If a catalytic converter is found to be defective, Bear River Converters will replace it under the following conditions:

A. The purchaser must return the defective converter along with completed warranty claim, and proof of purchase, along with a detailed account of the original work performed on the vehicle (reasons for converter replacement, etc.)

B. If warranty claim relates to emission performance, the purchaser should provide proof of failure of an emission test.

C. Bear River Converters reserves the right to request proof that the engine was tuned to the original manufacturers    specification, including all service updates, and maintained in proper operating condition.

3. Exclusions

This warranty will not be honored  under the following circumstances:

A. Improper Installations—including installation on a vehicle for which the converter has not been approved.

B. Failure to maintain the vehicle in proper operating condition will all emission control equipment properly connected  and operating according to the vehicle manufacturers specifications.

C. The use of leaded fuel.

D. Damage due to accident, negligence, or misuse.

E. Converters installed on vehicles with modified or damaged exhaust or emissions systems.

F. Failure to follow any vehicle-specific instructions or warnings pertaining to the emission controls systems as  outlined by either the vehicle manufacturer, or Bear River Converters.  This information is stated on the original sales invoice.

G. Vehicle has changed ownership.  This warranty only applies to the original purchaser of this catalytic converter.

This warranty only applies to new converters sold by Bear River Converters as defined on the original sales invoice*.  All others are bound by the industry standard 2 year/25,000 mile warranty as defined by the Environmental Protection Agency.

This warranty obliges Bear River Converters to only supply the purchaser with a new catalytic converter.  In California, this warranty is extended to include the full replacement cost up to the amount of the original purchase including labor.

* Bearcats 300, 400, 500, 550, 900, 920, 1000, 2000, 2020, 2030 series are covered by the terms of the 4 year/50,000 mile warranty.  All others are covered by the standard 2 year/25,000 mile warranty.
